"I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area doing gymnastics and modern and jazz dance. I came to San Diego in 2002 for my undergrad studies at UC San Diego, where I completed my BA in Ethnic Studies, and danced a lot of modern dance, and haven't left! After college I found the physicality of yoga to be a delightful and challenging way to move the body without competition. I continued in graduate school at San Diego State University, where I completed my MA in Women's Studies and began a teaching credential program. I spent a few years teaching dance to children and serving as a member of AmeriCorps, before deciding to deepen my yoga practice. I have a 200-hour yoga teaching certification and an 85-hour prenatal certification. I have been teaching since January 2012. I'm currently working towards my 300-hour certification with Laughing Lotus Yoga Center.
The spiritual aspects of yoga have aided me in the never-ending search for peace, calm and positivity within, and I'm passionate about sharing these tools with others. I'm intentional about taking yoga off the mat and I love finding the bridges between the heart and mind, the individual and community, and mindfulness and expression. I teach children’s yoga and I volunteer teach yoga for adult students who are refugees. I offer a hatha/vinyasa class that includes strong asana, pranayama and a philosophical theme woven throughout. I also lead many local and international yoga retreats, and workshops.
It is my goal to make yoga accessible and available for everyone."

Hungry Hawk Vineyards and Winery
Up a winding mountain road, with views of the San Pasqual Valley at every turn, Hungry Hawk Vineyards and Winery offers a true escape from the San Diego city life. You can't help forget you are barely 10 minutes off of the freeway! Hungry Hawk Vineyards and Winery is a boutique winery, and completely family owned and operated. With fifteen estate grown varieties, and 10 acres overlooking the beautiful San Pasqual Valley & San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Hungry Hawk Vineyards and Winery is truly one of San Diego's best.
Originally an avocado orchard, the Embly family purchased the property back in 2002 and opened up the winery and tasting room in 2013 with their son Mike, winemaker of Hungry Hawk wines. It is apparent the Embly family is incredibly passionate about what they do. There is a true spirit and soul that inhabits this land, and Mike has captivated this in his wine. They specialize in Spanish, Bordeaux, and Rhone varietals, and emphasize sustainable farming and winery practices. White varietals include Albarino, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viogner, and Pinot Gris. Bordeaux varietals include Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec. Grenache, Mouvedre, Petit Sirah, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, and the little known Syrah Noir round to out the list. Hungry Hawk Vineyards has already earned Silver Medals at the 2014 Florida State Fair and the 2014 San Diego County Fair. As well as the 2015 Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition silver medal award.
Hungry Hawk Vineyards and Winery offers truly an authentic wine tasting experience. We are so honored and excited to host Yoga in the Vineyard with the Embly family!
Food and wine pairing
In addition to the wine tasting flight, you will enjoy an exclusive food and wine pairing experience hosted by Chef Connie Roberts. Connie is a native San Diegan, and has 9 years experience as a chef. She is deeply passionate about what she does, and aims to provide nutritious and creative culinary expressions for her guests. Together, Connie and Mike have created custom healthy food pairing options for you to feel replenished post yoga class.
